5 reasons why Metamorphosis Network is taking action
- Compared to the rest of Canada, Peel communities will face bigger challenges as tariffs take effect. Our housing crisis is more acute, Peel residents are more racialized and newer to Canada, and our job market is particularly vulnerable to tariffs. We need solutions that work for our community.
- The policies of the next government will directly impact the services people in Peel are counting on to get through the challenges coming to our community.
- Nonprofits in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon know from experience that addressing these challenges needs a “people first” or “bottom up” approach. Solutions to housing, settlement and economic pressure on families, is work that comes from community agencies.
- Healthy communities are necessary for businesses to be productive, and a strong social infrastructure supports this. Tariffs could have a significant impact on the 42% of Peel workers employed in sectors directly impacted by trade. They will need community support services.
- Speaking up in this election will help our next Federal government address these pressing issues, so we are providing the information, and tools necessary to meaningfully participate.
