Who We Are

Metamorphosis represents over 100 non-profit agencies in Peel.

We advocate to ensure that community services meet the needs of our communities.

Our Vision

A network of community organizations leading the way to healthier communities.

The Metamorphosis Network is an independent network of community support services, non-profit organizations and community groups of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.  We collaborate to achieve enhanced client service, knowledge transfer, and service improvements in the Regional Municipality of Peel.

Our Mission

The Metamorphosis Network:

  • Advocates on behalf of community support services, non-profit organizations and community groups serving the residents of Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.
  • Provides a central point of access for communication with members, the media, the municipalities and other stakeholders.
  • Acts as a voice for the member organizations at planning tables as directed by the Network membership.
  • Provides collaborative opportunities to guide the development of service delivery strategies, policy and/or regulations to provide high quality community services and supports within Mississauga, Brampton and Caledon.

Our Story

Metamorphosis has deep roots in Peel’s nonprofit sector. The network first formed in 2005 amid major changes in healthcare and the goal to engage service providers and ensure better outcomes for the people that were served. The newest incarnation of Metamorphosis came together in 2023, in the face of the provincial governments proposal to dissolve Peel Region (Bill 112).

Since then, Metamorphosis has been the unifying voice for the nonprofit sector in Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon. As an independent non-partisan voice, our goal is to advocate for our clients, and provide public education on municipal issues.

Our field of research is primarily in the area of resources to support vulnerable people served by Peel’s social sector, as compared with other municipalities. We commissioned Blueprint ADE to produce the report Provincial Funding for Social Services in Peel Region, highlighting the disparity of funding in Peel compared with other similar sized regions in Ontario.

We work with social policy-makers at the municipalities of Mississauga, Brampton, and Caledon to support communities facing challenges, including:

  • Newcomers to Peel, including refugees and immigrants
  • Survivors of gender-based violence and intimate partner violence
  • Children, families, and individuals who live in poverty and are food insecure
  • Seniors requiring in-home services and prospective residents for long-term care
  • People with health, mental health, and addiction support needs
  • Youth and individuals who are unemployed and require employment supports
  • Those who are unhoused, or who are housing insecure
